Afrikaans is the most common choice for a first additional language and must be studied up until matric because it is often necessary for university entrance. Many learners who study the subject do so in a vacuum and consequently do not acquire the necessary grammatical skills and vocabulary in order to understand their teachers and make themselves understood. A shaky foundation in the language often comes from apathy towards the subject and will result in ineffective communication in the classroom, causing the pupil to struggle more and more as the syllabus advances. Our Afrikaans tutors are passionate about inspiring learners to grasp the core concepts of the language so that they can go on and excel; and maybe even enjoy themselves!
